Q & A
Is this a binary or burst trigger?
No. The FRT-15L3 is a forced reset trigger. It fires one round per trigger pull in Semi mode. In FRT mode, it fires one round, then the rifle’s recoil and bolt carrier group mechanically force the trigger to reset. The shooter must release forward pressure to stop firing and re-apply it to fire again. It is not a binary trigger (which fires on pull and release) and does not enable automatic fire.
What tools are needed for installation?
Installation requires standard AR-15 armorer’s tools: a hammer and punch set to drive out the existing trigger and hammer pins. The FRT-15L3 is a drop-in unit, so once the factory fire control group is removed, this unit drops into the lower receiver and is secured with its included pins. No gunsmithing is required.
Does it work with all AR-15 lowers and bolts?
It is designed for standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers. It functions with most standard bolt carrier groups. We recommend ensuring your BCG is in-spec and properly lubricated. As noted, fit can be slightly tighter on some Gen4 frames. It may not function correctly with certain lightweight BCGs, bolt designs, or adjustable gas systems that significantly alter cycling energy.
