Description

The Radian Talon Ambidextrous Safety Selector eliminates the AR-15’s most frustrating ergonomic compromise—right-handed shooters get positive clicks, left-handed shooters get awkward reaches. This 2-lever kit delivers crisp, consistent engagement from either side with your choice of 90° or 45° throw.

What you get

  • Radian Talon ambidextrous safety selector (2-lever kit)
  • 90° and 45° throw configurations included
  • Billet 7075-T6 aluminum levers with hardened steel center shaft
  • Spring-loaded retention system (no screws to strip or loosen)
  • Type III hardcoat anodized finish

Build and finish

The Talon’s levers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum—the same alloy used in aircraft components—with a steel-reinforced pivot shaft. Unlike cast or MIM selectors, this construction withstands repeated high-speed manipulation without developing slop. Radian’s proprietary detent geometry provides tactile feedback whether you’re running gloves or bare-handed.

Finish matters where metal meets polymer. The Type III hardcoat anodizing (MIL-A-8625 spec) prevents galling against Polymer80 frames and aftermarket lowers. The screw-less design isn’t just convenient—it eliminates a failure point common to cheaper ambi selectors that rely on set screws.

Compatible platforms

  • AR-15/M16 pattern rifles (mil-spec trigger groups)
  • Polymer80 PF940v2 and PF940C frames with AR controls
  • Most billet lowers (check clearance for oversized designs)
  • Not compatible with AK platforms or SIG MCX

Installation notes

Installation requires basic punch tools and takes under five minutes on most lowers. The spring-loaded retention system auto-centers during assembly—no need to hold tension while inserting pins. Clockwise rotation tightens engagement; counterclockwise reduces tension if needed.

For builders working with Polymer80 frames or modular pistol-caliber platforms, the Talon solves a persistent problem: ambidextrous controls that actually work. The 45° throw option is particularly useful for compact builds where full 90° sweeps are impractical. This is how factory safeties should’ve been designed from the start.
