The GLOCK 35 GEN4 is a purpose-built competition and duty pistol chambered in .40 S&W. Is the GLOCK 35 GEN4 suitable for a first-time pistol owner?
While it’s an excellent and reliable pistol, the .40 S&W caliber and larger frame size make it better suited for shooters with some experience. New shooters may find the recoil impulse and grip size more manageable on a 9mm model like the GLOCK 34.
What makes this a “competition” model?
The GLOCK 35 is built for action pistol sports like USPSA. The extended barrel and slide provide a longer sight radius for precision aiming and add weight out front to reduce muzzle rise, allowing for faster, more accurate shot strings. Are Gen3 and Gen4 magazines compatible?
Yes. Gen4 GLOCK pistols in .40 S&W use the same magazines as their Gen3 counterparts. You can use GLOCK 22 (Gen3 or Gen4) magazines in the GLOCK 35 without issue.
